Upgrade the bolt handle assembly in the 10/22®

This great upgrade kit for your 10/22® will provide you with a comfortable bolt handle to grasp, a "super slick" guide rod, and the ability to tune the recoil of your rifle with our interchangeable springs. Bolt handle length is 1 3/4", which is 1/4" longer than the factory bolt handle giving greater clearance for the shooter's knuckles while racking the bolt.

The three tuning springs come in varying tensions for the ultimate in tuning capability. The standard tension spring will serve the shooter throughout most of the different ammunition velocities. But if, due to tolerance stacking or preferred ammunition the cycling of the action is out of sync, then the shooter has the capability to change the spring without using the more primitive and permanent method of cutting coils to tune a spring.

Precision ground guide rod is made from hardened tool steel and held to 2/10,000" tolerance throughout its entire length. The rod is nitride treated which gives its surface a 70C rockwell (harder than a file) surface hardness. Guaranteed the smoothest and slickest guide rod in the industry.

Installation instructions:

After removing the stock from the barreled action, remove the trigger and bolt stop. This will allow the needed clearance for the bolt to be removed along with the bolt handle assembly. After choosing your proper spring tension slip the bolt handle assembly in from the ejection port, placing the cone end of the rod into the containment hole in the receiver. Then fully compress the bolt handle assembly while placing the bolt on it. After the mating of the bolt handle and bolt, let off the containment allowing the bolt to go forward. Install the bolt stop pin (or upgrade with our bolt buffer), trigger and stock. The video above offers some of the finer installation points.

Black ring by lt handle

I installed this black ring bolt handle and it is awesome. The bolt handle is about 1/4” longer than the factory making it easier to operate, and it is butter smooth when operating. The handle also comes with 3 different springs light, normal and heavy so it will function with whatever ammo you prefer. This handle is a big improvement over the factory one.

Smooth like butter

This was a big upgrade over the stock spring, I'd usually get at least 1 malfunction shooting about 500 rounds on a range day, shot more than a thousand rounds through each of my 10/22s with no malfunction. Definitely recommend!

Much better charging handle

I installed the white spring and went through about 100 rounds with no feed or ejection issues. (Also using KIDD bolt and trigger assembly) I would buy this assembly again and highly recommend it to others with a 10/22.

KIDD Charging Assembly

This KIDD charging assembly did not disappoint! Couldn't be happier with my purchase. I would recommend this kit to anyone looking to improve the Ruger 10/22. My 50th anniversary 10/22 action is smooth as butter now with the KIDD guide rod & standard spring installed. I have not had any issues with miss firing, or stove pipes. This set up cycles match grade ammo with no problems. I have shot just over a 1,000 rounds with the KIDD parts installed the standard spring is working perfectly with match grade, & high velocity ammo.

Satisfied customer

I have used the Kidd guide rod, springs and charging handle before. This Charger clone I assembled only has a couple Ruger parts in it. The Kidd rod has to be the smoothest one you can buy and I have tried most of them on the market.

The extra extension over rugers stock is way more notable then I anticipate. The adaptability of the springs is a bonus if you start having ejection issues.
