This great upgrade kit for your 10/22® will provide you with a comfortable bolt handle to grasp, a "super slick" guide rod, and the ability to tune the recoil of your rifle with our interchangeable springs. Bolt handle length is 1 3/4", which is 1/4" longer than the factory bolt handle giving greater clearance for the shooter's knuckles while racking the bolt.

The three tuning springs come in varying tensions for the ultimate in tuning capability. The standard tension spring will serve the shooter throughout most of the different ammunition velocities. But if, due to tolerance stacking or preferred ammunition the cycling of the action is out of sync, then the shooter has the capability to change the spring without using the more primitive and permanent method of cutting coils to tune a spring.

Precision ground guide rod is made from hardened tool steel and held to 2/10,000" tolerance throughout its entire length. The rod is nitride treated which gives its surface a 70C rockwell (harder than a file) surface hardness. Guaranteed the smoothest and slickest guide rod in the industry.

Installation instructions:

After removing the stock from the barreled action, remove the trigger and bolt stop. This will allow the needed clearance for the bolt to be removed along with the bolt handle assembly. After choosing your proper spring tension slip the bolt handle assembly in from the ejection port, placing the cone end of the rod into the containment hole in the receiver. Then fully compress the bolt handle assembly while placing the bolt on it. After the mating of the bolt handle and bolt, let off the containment allowing the bolt to go forward. Install the bolt stop pin (or upgrade with our bolt buffer), trigger and stock. The video above offers some of the finer installation points.

After completing a 10/22 build using all aftermarket quality parts, I was disappointed in the short cycling of the bolt resulting in feed failures and stovepipes. I suspected the charging handle assembly due to the gritty, notchy feel when I pulled on it. I decided to give the Kidd charging assembly a try and: Problem solved! The action is silky smooth and I haven't had a malfunction since switching to the Kidd. I just ordered a second one for my other 10/22 custom build.

Race gun competitor

After installing a Kidd Charging Assembly on my first race gun, the benefits were obvious....superior grip, super-slick charging rod, and a selection of springs. When building my second rifle, my choice was a slam dunk.. Once again, a superior component at a reasonable price. Kidd builds it better.

I just installed this kit in my 10/22. The difference from the stock Ruger set is amazing. The grinding sound and feel when cycling the bolt is gone. Glass smooth. Highly recommend this upgrade. It is a little more difficult to install, since the spring and handle are not captive on the guide rod, but well worth the effort.

Nice bolt handle

Guide rod is smooth and springs are a nice addition for tuning for different velocity ammo. The guide rod makes racking the action very smooth. Machining on bolt handle is spot on and the extra length makes racking the bolt alot easier with a scope on top of the receiver.
