Guide rod and spring for the 10/22® bolt handle assembly
Intended to be used with a KIDD Bolt Handle
Interchangeable tuning springs: (white spring=standard, red spring =10% increase, green=10% decrease)

Precision ground guide rod is made from hardened tool steel and held to 2/10,000" tolerance throughout its entire length. The rod is nitride treated which gives its surface a 70C rockwell (harder than a file) surface hardness. Guaranteed the smoothest and slickest guide rod in the industry. The three springs come in varying tensions for the ultimate modification. With this kit, KIDD provides a standard spring tension then includes, a 10% lighter and 10% heavier spring for tuning your cycling. We recommend that the KIDD Bolt Handle also be purchased with this kit in lieu of trying to cut the factory bolt assembly.

Great Kit

I had some bolt cycling issues with different ammo. I order the kit so I could adjust the bolt spring weight. It worked perfectly. Great product.

Kidd sells the highest quality precision made 10/22 parts I’ve ever used! Very highly recommended!!! If you can’t shoot a Kidd rifle or a Kidd modified rifle, then you need to work on your skills because it ain’t the gun!

Best Upgrade yet

Worth its weight in gold. Rugers parts from the factory are terrible with Kidds upgrade springs and guide rod, its quite the difference. Super smooth and now my 10/22 can be charged with as little as a pinky finger. Best part is the light spring help with cycling subsonic 22lr for a quiet experience coupled with a suppressor. Dont hesitate, buy this simple and effective upgrade spring and guide rod kit

The Kidd Guide Rod kit works very well. The rod is extremely smooth so pulling the bolt back is easy no matter which spring, light, standard or heavy, you have installed. Also, having the ability to change springs is great! It makes spring replacement and tuning that much easier. I highly recommend the Kidd Guide Rod and Spring kit.

Guided rod and spring kit.

This kit is impressive. I was having issues with the speed and efficiency of my bolt sliding. This kit fixed that. The rod seems to be of better quality and polished very well. The springs are excellent. I tried them all out and found the one that works best for me. My rifle cycles flawlessly now thanks to kidd. 10 out of 10 definitely would recommend this kit.

Fixed the issue!

I bought an old Ruger 10/22 a couple years ago, I think it was built in 1994. It had extraction issues every several rounds and I could never make it through a full 25 round mag without a malfunction(s). 10 round mags faired better but still had extraction issues. Bought a new extractor, still issues. Tried different magazines, still had issues. Went to the forums and some of the recommendations were to get a new recoil spring. The Kidd spring kit was recommended by some forum members so I decided, what the heck, I'll give it a try. I got the kit and replaced the guide rod and used the standard spring (white) and it worked like a charm. Made it through two, 25 round mags and 4, ten round mags without a single malfunction. Just a note, if you want to use the Ruger charging handle, you will have to cut the guide rod to remove the OEM handle. I decided to go this route to keep the rifle stock looking however if you want to avoid that, just buy one of the charging handles along with your kit on this site.

Really a great change

My 10/22 ® is 20 plus years old. The guide rod has gotten bent and battered over time. I had feeding issues I tied to the guide rod just being rough. The Kidd guide rod is straight, smooth and harder. (OEM WAS soft). The gun now cycles better than new and is simple smooth operationally. This is an essential change and I would say it's a " must" compared to some other changes which are "nice to have". Highly recommended. Service from Kidd is 1st rate ...good communication and polite people on the phone. .
