Guide rod and spring for the 10/22® bolt handle assembly
Intended to be used with a KIDD Bolt Handle
Interchangeable tuning springs: (white spring=standard, red spring =10% increase, green=10% decrease)

Precision ground guide rod is made from hardened tool steel and held to 2/10,000" tolerance throughout its entire length. The rod is nitride treated which gives its surface a 70C rockwell (harder than a file) surface hardness. Guaranteed the smoothest and slickest guide rod in the industry. The three springs come in varying tensions for the ultimate modification. With this kit, KIDD provides a standard spring tension then includes, a 10% lighter and 10% heavier spring for tuning your cycling. We recommend that the KIDD Bolt Handle also be purchased with this kit in lieu of trying to cut the factory bolt assembly.

Worked great, fixed my autoloading problem

Worked perfectly. The lighter weight, green wire allows my subsonic loads to autoload correctly without causing a problem with my High velocity loads.

Good upgrade

Bolt works smoother than the orignal. The 3 springs let’s me tune action for different ammo.

I was on the fence too

I was on the fence about just polishing my factory guide rod, dont do it. As soon as I installed the kidd guide rod I knew it was worth the cost.

Sportsman

The Kidd guide rod and spring selection is a great upgrade from the 10/22 factory parts. The green lighter weight spring in the set was exactly what I needed to make my 10/22 function reliably with subsonic ammo. The Kidd guide rod makes the bolt movement noticeably smoother. Great products!

Great to have the ability to change the spring for different ammo. I shoot a lot of subsonic and supersonic ammo and this 3 spring set will accommodate anything.

Works great, just one minor problem

The guide rod is made real well, along with the 3 springs. The only issue i’ve had is getting the guide rod and spring back into the receiver with the bolt. That’s because there’s no way to retain the spring like the factory one, or other aftermarket ones (most seem to offer a c-clip to hold the spring on instead of leaving it loose.) Besides that though it works amazingly well. Real smooth and definitely worth the price.

Q: I shoot a Ruger 10/22 rifle and occasionally use very low-power .22LR rounds, such as Aguila Colibrí 20-grain at 420 FPS. Will the KIDD Guide Rod & Spring Kit reliably improve cycling and extraction for these low-energy rounds without causing issues with standard or high-velocity .22LR ammunition? Additionally, which spring option in the kit would you recommend for this purpose?"
