Mr
This is the second Kidd bolt I have purchased. I have a factory engraved anniversary bolt I kept due to the engraving, but I don't believe that even after polishing it, that I'll be keeping it. I did upgrade the parts in it to Kidd, but it is still problematic. Kidd bolts are awesome. They are a pain to install, but if you pull and clean the factory bolt they too are a pain. Following Kidds instructions it's completely doable though. Simply put, Kidd parts run, and run exceptionally well.

Great Upgrade
After buying a new barrel here and seeing what I got, the next logical step was to upgrade the bolt. Once again, I’m very pleased and impressed. The craftsmanship is top-notch and it has eliminated feed issues. Not only is it functional, but it looks amazing too.

Great Quality Bolt
I ordered the Kidd Engraved Bolt to replace the OEM in my 75th Anniversary edition 1022 Sportster. I’d noticed some binding, or sluggishness in the bolt movement which I was unable to eliminate with just cleaning and lubricating. When the new bolt arrived I was impressed with its outstanding appearance and apparent quality. Obviously much better made than the standard bolt. Unfortunately, when I went to install the new bolt, I was unable to get it in following the instructions and videos. The dimensions of the bolt were such that it would not clear the ejection port ledge when lowering the front edge of the bolt into position. After about 30 minutes of fiddling around, I found that the bolt would drop in if held horizontally above the receiver and dropped straight down. It took some time to get the charging handle engaged, but got it eventually. I was worried about how I was going to remove it for cleaning, but for the time being was installed and functional. I took it to the range the next day and fired 200 rounds of various brands of ammo. What a difference! The bolt reciprocated without any hesitation! It seemed like it was running on ice. Not one malfunction of any kind. I was completely satisfied. When I got home, I decided to disassemble for cleaning, and see how much trouble I had getting the bolt out. Wasn’t awful! I was able to pick up the bolt enough to remove the charging handle and recoil rod and spring. I was then able to slip a tool under the bolt and lift it straight up and out. I dropped a note to Kidd Tech Service regarding this issue. They responded, saying that sometimes when the Ruger receivers are made there is some excess material at the end of the ledge and scraping or filing will remove it and eliminate the problem. That afternoon, I got a small, fine file and carefully removed a thousandth or so from the ledge. Problem solved. The bolt now drops smoothly into the receiver in the normal manner. Thanks Kidd, for a great product and quick customer service.
