Upgrade to a true match barrel for your Ruger® 10/22® — engineered for repeatable accuracy, rock-solid fit, and simple, reliable performance.
Why this barrel
Match-grade accuracy: Bored and rifled by Lothar Walther (Germany) and finished by Tony Kidd, including hand lapping and a proprietary chamber reamer for smooth, consistent feeding. Guaranteed to group 1/2" at 50 yards (5 shots).
Stable, shooter-friendly balance: The heavy 18" bull profile slows rifle movement and reduces wobble, helping you keep targets in the scope longer.
Reliability built in: The precision convex extractor slot keeps the extractor perfectly aligned with the case rim to prevent extraction failures. This feature requires expensive tooling and tight tolerances — but we do it for consistent reliability.

Fitment & avoiding barrel droop
Barrel droop results from an insecure or inconsistent tenon/shoulder fit. KIDD eliminates droop by:
Using a resistance fit between tenon and receiver (tenon slightly larger than the receiver mortise), with consistent diameter along the tenon length
Machining a precise shoulder at .920" that seats flush against the receiver — a clean step, not a ramp — for full support
When properly fitted, v-block screws only need to be snug (~10 in-lb), enough to prevent forward movement without affecting alignment.
Installation tips
Clean paint or debris from the receiver mortise before installing
Apply anti-seize compound sparingly to the tenon (automotive anti-seize works well)
Start the tenon into the mortise, turn the rifle over, and gently tap the rear of the receiver with a rubber mallet. Align the extractor slot during installation
Run two magazines through the barrel before evaluating groups; repeat when changing ammunition brands
Keep the chamber clean, but avoid over-cleaning the bore — excessive cleaning can reduce accuracy. Typical bore cleaning interval: ˜500 rounds, depending on ammo
